Music magazine front cover

This is my final music magazine front cover. I created my front cover on photoshop which at first i thought was difficult but after a while i got used to.

The first convention i created on my music magazine was the masthead which shows the insituation of my magazine which is 'IML' which stands for independent music lovers, i choose to call my music magazine this as its straight to the point of the music genre of my magazine and therefore will attract my target audience.

For the colour scheme of my magazine i wanted it to be bright and eye-cathcing so it would appeal to the younger side of my target audicnece and also look noticable on the shops shelfs. Therefore i decided to use bright coloures such as, Red, Yellow, Blue and white, purple so that my magazine looked really bold and out there.

Another convention i have used on my front cover are cover-lines as all magazines i have seen have these. I have one main cover-line which links to my main image and also the main feature of this months magazine issue, i wanted my main cover-line to be obvioulsy the most noticable on my front page as this is what normally brings the public in. The other cover-lines on my magazine show what else can be expected to be inside my magazine.

Most of my front cover is taken up by my main image. The model in my main image is taking on the role of 'Caleb jacobs' who i've decied is a independent music artist who was in an award winning indie band but apparently was forced to leave due to rumored antics however now is a reformed character. Therefore for my main image i need to show the ideolgy of a star who was someone who had a lot of arrogance but still a nice person therefore i chose to use this image as the model in my picture is smileing and looking away from the camera which shows he may not be fully confident, but also how i have dressed my model which looks like expensive clothes and the fact he is standing quite proud and wearing sunglasses can show of the more arrogant side. Also i thought this image targetd my target audicence as in the medium close up of my model the audicence can gather what the model is wearing, which links to the indie genre.

Also on my front cover i have included some other basic conventions which most magazines are expected to have such as a barcode, dateline, issue number and the price.
