Q contents page

When first looking at the Q contents page the first thing i notice is how well set out and tidy the layout looks. Down the left hand side of the contents page it has been split into two different sections, 'features' and 'every month', these are both in bold white fonts highlighted in red which will definitely make them noticeable to the audience, underneath them are the contents of the magazine and what page they are on, doing this makes it easier for reader to navigate round. The 'every month' part shows the reader what is normally in the magazine and what page it is on, this is a good thing to use as for regular readers they will be able to find out where abouts in the magazine their favourite feature is and for new readers they will know what to expect in Q's magazines. The 'Features' section shows this months features of the magazine that are new things and are not always included in the magazine also in the features section is a seperate section titled the 'Oasis special' the title is in a gold font which stands out the reast of the text on the contents page which either white, red or black. The colour gold has an ideology of been special therefore using this for the 'Oasis special' cover line has given a good impression to the reader as they will feel as though they have to read it and maybe that other magazines are not offering the same feature. On the contents page there is a main image of the band The Courteeners useing an image of this band reflects the genre that is written and interveiwd about in Q magazine. The boys in the image are dressed in jeans and t-shirts, have accesories and long hair which would be seen as a representation of the average indie/rock band and you would probally find the people who read this magazine most probally dress like that to. At the bottom of contents page there is a review box , this shows the reader the revewis included in this version of Q. There is a tagline above the reveiw box which says 'The worlds biggest and best music choice'.This is a good thing to include in the magazine as people are most like to buy and see the magazine as a better choice when chooseing a magazine if it has posotive reviews
